A year ago my life was changed when I watched a wonderful, independent movie called, The Letter Writer. The trailer for the movie is posted below. The movie is, to summarize, about an older gentleman who writes letters to people; people he does not know. The letters are inspiring works of God’s message of love, understanding, and joy. In the movie, Maggie, a rebellious, teenage girl, receives a letter just as it seems her life is beginning to spiral out of control. The letter is so compelling that Maggie seeks the author out, wondering why he would write HER this letter when he doesn’t know her. This letter changes her life and helps her to discover who it is that she wants to be.
Since seeing this movie, I have had a desire to inspire and uplift people in the same way, but I have been avoiding actually doing it until now. I am a writer at heart, but it has always been technical or academic writing. I am stepping out in faith that I can actually do what “Sam Worthington” did in the movie. This past year (2020) has been so incredibly difficult on everyone in the United States that I feel like now is my time to do this. Where I once blogged about genealogy and politics, I am walking away from all of that, in spite of my love for both. We need inspiration. We need hope. We need A LETTER WRITER!
I encourage you to watch the movie, or the trailer below. I know it will make a mark in your life the same way it did in mine. If you are interested in having a letter sent to someone you love, or someone you know that needs encouragement, congratulations, or any situation. See my contact information for more details.
I am sincerely,
